How much is the tax credit for? How much will i qualify for?
Hi John, If your a first time home buyer then you can get a tax credit of up to 10% of the cost of the house up to a maximum of 8k. So if the house is over 80k then you will qualify for the maximum amount of 8k. If the house is say 60k then you would get 6k etc etc..

Tax Credit is a state benefit paid to workers through the tax system, which has the effect of increasing (rather than reducing) net income.

So Its depend upon your net income. so try to find out your Tax credit by show to any expert person.

ThanX,......

Hi haridas,

It does not look like you have the slightest of idea of what the original poster's query is all about. John has asked about the tax credit meant for the first time home buyers who buy property on or from January 1, 2009 to December 1, 2009. It has got nothing to do with 'workers' and it does not depend on one's 'net income'. Anyone who has not owned a primary residence in the past 3 years and intends to buy a house within the time frame stipulated above, can apply for the tax credit.

thank you so much jenkin for trying to set the matter straight. we seem to be inundated with new people who lack an understanding of what goes on in the mortgage industry (but who feel it appropriate to add inane comments).

honestly, if we are to be a help to the community at large, we really all need to be vigilant and try to correct the incorrect postings as we see them. there are a lot of hurting people coming to this community for support and advice and they are really being done a disservice unless we correct the misstatements that appear.

thanks again.
