When I bought my house, I was encouraged to have my mother on the deed as I would get the Florida tax benefit. Mom has never given me any monies toward the house. She is now 90 and in a nursing home. I would like to remove her from the deed. Is the Quit Claim Form the only one I need?
Hi irishcoffee,
Your mother can sign a quit claim deed in your favor in order to get her name removed from the property deed. However, this may make her ineligible for receiving the Medicaid benefits.

Hi Irishcoffee,
You can sign a quitclaim deed and remove your mother from the property deed. However, if there is any mortgage against the property and if it is in your mother's name then you need to re-finance it in your name. I would suggest you to consult with a good attorney regarding this.
