My mother recently passed away and gave my brother and I co-ownership of a condo in Palm Beach County Florida.
The new deed reflects that, with both of our names on it.
I am planning on moving down to Florida permanently.
No one is living there now, and I would like to know if I have the legal right to be in the home at any time that I wish without my brother's permission?
Would I need my brother's permission to live there permanently if I wish?
Thanks in advance.

As a co-owner of the property with your brother you have rights equal to his.
Your questions are very general in nature.....there appears to be more to the story.
You cannot unilaterally determine how the property is to be used nor can he. The two of you need to come to an agreement. If you cannot agree legal action can be taken and a judge will decide.

Hi Steve,
I agree with what Jhelwell has said. In my opinion, it will be better to let your brother know that you want to stay in the property permanently. You can even try buying the rest of the property from your brother so that you can become the sole owner.
Thanks
