:?: my divorce has not finalized. However the mortgage has been in my name for 2 years. My soon to be ex-husband owes the IRS and they are saying a levy will be placed on the house where he has no financial obilgaitons or has even lived in for 8 years. Will a quick claim deed protect my home located in Jacksonville Florida? Thanks for the advice.
Hi dee,
If your ex-husband's name is mentioned in the property deed, then the IRS will be able to come after the property and place a lien on it. If he transfers the property to you, then the IRS won't be able to come after the property.
Thanks
