i need to find out how much it will be to do a quit claim deed in pinellas county, florida with a property that has a mortgage of $181,170. i have heard so many different answers. is it just a recording fee to record the quitclaim or is there doc fees also associated with the recording. please help. there are 3 names on the deed and i need to remove one of them who is only on deed but not the note or anything else....
savar, be prepared to hear "so many" more different answers. i think your best bet is to contact the pinellas county office in which deeds are registered (county clerk?), and they can tell you what their recording fees are. as far as other fees are concerned, i guess that's dependent upon who might be doing your paperwork. are you using some sort of agency to do your deed, and have you been quoted a fee?
a person can, conceivably, do one's own deed and incur no additional costs. if you need help, however, you indeed incur a fee or fees.

I would be doing my own work in regards to preparing the quit claim deed and having it notarized. I think what I am confused about is whether the fee would just be the recording fee of 10-15 bucks or would there be additional fees based on the mortgage. Confused
there's no new mortgage, right? if not, then no fees...if yes, then there are recording fees for a mortgage as well.
