Can I give timeshare back to resort in FL?

Posted on: 11th Nov, 2010 08:40 pm
i own my timeshare at orange lake in fl outright, but i do not want to continue paying the maintenance fees as we do not use the week anymore. i read that it is possible to do a quit claim deed? will they have to sign it? have you heard from other owners from orange lake? if so, what has been the success rate of giving back the timeshare to them and stop having to pay maintenance fees?
Hi ibccmmissionmortgage,

You can give back the property to the timeshare company by signing a quitclaim deed. However, in some states it is mandatory for the grantee to sign the deed. You should contact a real estate attorney and he will guide you further in this matter.

Thanks
