We own a timeshare week in Cocoa Beach Florida and have tried to sell it with no luck.
A few years ago I contacted the resort and they suggested that I use a real estate company to sell the property but every company or business we have contacted to rid our selves of the property have wanted a fee up front to get rid of the property.
There are several companies that are willing to take our name off of the title and transfer the property however they want $1898.00 or more to do this.
I read an article in the paper that someone transferred their property back to the resort (that the resort didn't want it back) using a quitclaim deed.
Is this possible?
If so how do I go about doing this?
Will we have to go to Florida to register the deed?

Hi rlllrs,
You can use a quitclaim deed to transfer the property to the timeshare resort. The deed has to be registered in Florida or else it won't be considered as valid. However, as far as I know, the grantee has to accept the deed as well.
Thanks
