We own the real estate outright, and the Florida title conveyed the property to me and my wife as grantees. Subsequently, my wife passed away. I know there are quitclaim forms available on the internet, but do not know what to put as "Grantor". Would I put my name and my wife's name with the notation (Deceased)? Help!
Hi tom,
I don't think a quitclaim deed will serve your purpose. As your wife is deceased, she cannot sign the deed as a grantor, thus transferring her share of interest to you isn't possible at this point in time. I think you should file her death certificate with the county recorders office to change the ownership solely to your name.
