Bankruptcy after foreclosure?

Posted on: 30th Mar, 2010 07:49 am
What if you already have a foreclosure.? Should you just stay with the foreclosure and run the risk of having the bak come back after you for your debt? or should you file for bankruptcy? What if your getting married will either of theses things affect your spouses credit?
Hi Guest,

After a foreclosure sale, the lender has the rights to come after you for the deficient balance. You can negotiate with the lender and check out if he can forgive the deficient balance or reduce the dues to some extent so that it becomes affordable for you to pay it off.

However, as your property has gone through a foreclosure, it won't affect your would-be spouse's credit in any way.
