I was disabled in an auto accident 3 yrs. ago and am applying for disability ben3efits through Social Security. I have and am having difficulty making mortgage payments since this all occurred. Are there any laws protecting families from foreclosure who are applying or appealing Disability Benefits?

Well... I don't know of a law protecting families from foreclosure who are applying or appealing Disability Benefits. However, as you're facing problems in paying your mortgage payments, you can contact your lender and apply for a loan modification. If the lender is convinced about your hardship, then he will consider your request for modification which will make it easier for you to pay off the dues.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
