In these Surprising Foreclosure(home) papers the sherrif brung today states that, I may claim an interest in the subject property by virtue of being a current titleholder thereof.
*First time home buyer and the children and I live in this home, the absent parent moved out, he was suppose to pay this mortgage pmt instead of child support (our agreement). He failed to do both. If i could somehow keep this residence, it would be great..Tips? Pro's-Con's?
If anyone could elaborate on this statement and/or could be of any help i would appreciate it very much.

Hi Candice,
If your name is on the mortgage papers, then you will be liable for paying the mortgage payments. If the lender does not receive his payments, then he will come after you in order to recover his dues. I will suggest you to contact your lender and apply for a loan modification. It will help you in getting an affordable repayment plan to pay off the dues.
