My Aunt and I got a house together. My name is on the deed to the house but not on the loan for the home. Due to economy, the home is in foreclosure. I have been served papers by the loan company. I am single parent and they want to garninsh my wages. Can they sue me? PLEASE can anyone help? I can not aford an atterney or anything. What can I do?
Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

You've mentioned that your name is on the property deed and not on the loan. In such a situation, the lender will not be able to garnish your wages or sue you for the mortgage payments. The person whose name is on the mortgage docs can be sued for the mortgage dues. You can contact the lender and inform him that you are not responsible for the mortgage payments and thus, they cannot sue you or garnish your wages.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
