Quit claim question

Posted on: 25th Mar, 2008 10:09 am
I had purchased an item for say $750 from someone and I owe $400 more to him, he is threatening to file a quit claim with interest on my home, my home is in Forecloseure but no sale date as of yet, can he still do this? Thanks
Hi Tony,

Welcome to the forum.

You have bought something for $750 - right. But I cannot understand what is he willing to quitclaim to you and how will it affect you. As far as I know if someone quitclaims a property to you, then you will own that property but that does not have any negative effect.

Please illustrate it a bit.

Best of luck,
Larry

Hi Tony,

Do you have a mortgage on the property? because foreclosure is associated with a mtg. So, I don't understand what kind of debt you are talking about here. Was the $750 secured? and how can a person simply threaten to file quitclaim? Please explain in details so that I can suggest a proper solution.

Take Care
