I am 3 months behind, and have made arrangements with my lender, but have now received the demand letter. I had called my lender, and spoke with the collections department, although I was trying to get the loan modification department. My monthly is $1089 and I am self employed, due to economy, I have lost part of my self employed income. I need help to get the loan modified down for 6 months. My lender's collection department gave me 4 months, but increased the payment to $1289 a month. How can I get the assistance I need before I go into foreclosure? Where do I call, who can help, is there any help or am I doomed to foreclosure?
Contact a loan modification attorney or check out HUD's website for foreclosure prevention at http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/fc/ for more info.
