Suntrust told me to wait.....

Posted on: 02nd Jan, 2009 05:54 pm
Long story short,

I left my job in September, bad timing on my part I know. Have since found 2 PT jobs to pay bills but have been unable to pay the mortgage. I notified Suntrust right away about my situation and asked them about renegotiation. They took my financial info and was told someone would be in touch.

I have called them every week to keep in touch and make them aware that I intend to keep the house. However, last week a Deputy knocked on my door and served me paperwork from an attorney that foreclosure had begun. I called Suntrust back and let them know what I had received and was told a re-negotiator had been assigned, and I just had to wait for him to call. She told me that the foreclosure process was automatic after missing 3 payments and not to worry about it.

I can't help but worry, and I am not sure what else I can do. I feel I have done everything I am supposed to do as far as keeping in touch with my lender.

Any advice you can provide is appreciated.
Hi wkennedy,

I appreciate that you were in touch with the lender. I think it is a matter to worry as you have been served with foreclosure notice. This means that the lender has initiated the foreclosure process which will not only ruin your credit but you will also lose your property.

You should again try speaking with the lender and check if they can modify your loan now. You can also hire an attorney who may help you negotiating with the lender in this issue.

Thanks
