My husband spoke to our mortgage holder and they went over all the numbers. He was told he qualified for a modification and they would send an appraiser out. Never heard from the appraiser. Due to a change to a po box we never got any mail from the bank. My husband caled today, was told we are in forclosure and didnt qualify for the modification. He was never told to submit a hardship letter. We want to fix this somehow but they seem to not to want to help us at this point. What can we do?
Who is your lender? I would ask to speak to a manager and then see how you go about resubmitting the modification or getting qualified for a government program.
Litton Loan is the lender. They told my husband (the forclosure dept) that we didnt meed the qualifications. But alls they did was spend 45 mins on the phone with him a few months ago, going over income to expenses, went over how much our mortgage went up after the fixed rate changed from 5% to 9%, and she told him yes he qulified. Then said an appraiser would be sent out. dont know if that was done. Thats it. I thought a hardship letter had to be submitted to apply for the modification.
ok with my experience with litton I noticed that they had hit their annual cap for modifications last year. They are only allowed to modify 5% of the total amount of loans that they have in each pool that they service. I have had to resubmit all the mods I was working on with litton this month since it is now a new year. Things seem to be moving along a lot smoother now. You should try and do the same.
at a loss here.live in NY Litton is the mort co but HSBC must own them. We are now in forclosure. we were told we were denied the modification. No one will tell us exactly why, just that there is a list of things you can be denied for and we got denied for one of the reasons on the list.a hardship letter was never requested. They said our modification case is closed and cant be resubmitted. I feel like they are just trying to make an example of us. They are not willing to help at all. Is there anywhere we can get help to fight this, from our state, as a lawyers fee on top of it all is too much.
It is your lender who will help you in getting a loan modification. If your lender has denied it, then there is hardly anything that you can do. You may contact a modification attorney and check out if he can help you in this regard.
thank you
