it is your deceased mother's property which is being foreclosed upon. this is because, i guess, the mortgage payments have been left past due. you may speak to the lender and try to refinance the property in your name if possible and pay off the past dues. this will help you in saving the property.

Additional clarification...

Banks foreclose on mortgages, not people. Since the mortgage was still outstanding and unpaid, that is why this is happening. You should refinance like the prior post mentioned.
