Hello....apparently my house has been foreclosed on as I went back to it today and the locks have been changed with a no trespassing notice on the window. How do I get my items out of the house and is what the bank did legal without posting a notice on my door?
you don't say where you live, so nobody here can interpret local laws for you.
apparently, you had vacated the home. "notice" means that the lender would have had to send you information at the address you had given them to send you things. if that was the property address and you had vacated, then they couldn't have done better than what they did. with foreclosures, of course, there is typically advertisements in the newspaper. maybe you don't read the paper.
the bottom line appears to be this: the lender probably did everything it was legally supposed to do to apprise you of the upcoming action. if you find out differently, you may have grounds for a nice lawsuit. if you no longer resided in the home, then you've given that up anyway, so don't plan on getting the house back.
have you had any discussions with this lender concerning what it was they did?

They will give you notice in writing, maybe even through certified mail or process server. Depending on if you have kids or elderly people in the home, you may be eligible for an extention, which would give you some time to get enough money together to find a rental property. Good luck!
