I am in foreclousre with a sale date of 6/28/10. Is it too late do do a deed in luie. I have the paper work and just need a signed listing contract. Do I go to any realtor?
yes your still have a chance of getting other options. but i must warn you, lenders want to see your property listed for sale(or short sale) for about 60 days before giving you the opportunity to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure. so list your property for sale first, and ask your lender for a short sale approval, they will most likely extend your sale date with the new housing program called hafa that was just put in legislation back in april '10. when your sale date is extended it gives you time to try to sell, and stay there for free if you choose to not pay. if your don't sell in 60 days then ask for a deed in lieu of foreclosure to see if your lender will take the property back to avoid the foreclosure sale. you can get $3000 for moving expenses if your are granted the short sale or deed in lieu. see my site and talk to your lender too.
Hi wpv,
It would have been better if you would have applied for a deed in lieu of foreclosure a few days back. Nevertheless, I would suggest you to get in touch with your lender and apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure. It will be completely the lender's discretion whether or not he would consider your request now as your sale date is so nearby.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. I have listed the house but, the atty's name that the lender gave me is a collection firm. I sent in my info to them and was told they had to get in touch with my lenders atty? Is there anything else i can do or do I just call again?
Hi Vendetta,
I would suggest you to get in touch with the lender once again and request them to speed up the process.
Thanks
