What personal property can be taken from foreclosed home?

Posted on: 02nd Oct, 2010 02:59 pm
My wife and I are facing foreclosure. The sale date has been set; it looks like we'll have to leave.

If we do so, are we legally allowed to take the stove and the refrigerator that were in our home when we purchased it? If this helps, this is a FHA loan. The property was listed on the sales contract as personal property.

We are probably going to have to file for chapter 13 -- and it is possible that we might be able to file for chapter 7 based upon our income and family size. We just don't want to face the possibility of criminal charges if we remove the stove and the refrigerator.

Thanks!
Hi manwithaplan71,

If stove & refrigerator is part of the home when it was purchased surely you can't take it.and stay away from criminal charges.

Feel free to ask any further query if you have.
