Hi nursedd,
Have you got current on your mortgage? If you have not, then there is every possibility that the lender will foreclose on your house. Transferring the house to your husband's mom through a quitclaim deed does not help in this situation. Such transfer is not considered as valid and the lender always has the right to reverse the transfer and foreclose on the house.
The only way to save the house from foreclosure is, paying the mortgage payments on time. If you are making the mortgage payments and are current on the loan, the lender will not foreclose on the house. You can then ask your husband's mom to sign on another quitclaim deed and transfer the property back to you and your husband.

getting your house back would seem to have a lot to do with your relationship with your mother in law (and your husband's relationship with his mom). also, as noted, you have to ensure that the mortgage gets paid.
with all of the above being favorable, then that's how you'll get your house back. if some is negative, then you better get ready to fight.
