Hi. I live in Washington DC, where we have very strict tenant laws. My neighbor's home was foreclosed on in May 2010. After several court battles with the bank, going back at least 10 years, they were told all legal avenues had been exhausted. The new owner has been listed with the DC tax office since August but the neighbors have still not been evicted.
My question is are they now considered squatters? is there any other legal action they can take at this point? And finally, how long can they expect to remain in the house?
Thanks for any insight.

Hi Francie,
An attorney will be the best person to answer these queries. Your neighbors should contact an experienced real estate attorney and he will be the best to help you in this matter.
Thanks
