i am filing bankruptcy either way.....and losing my home......- does it really matter if i foreclose on my house or do a short sale??
have you tried the loan modifiacation. maybe you can save your house I think a short sale is better than forclosure if you can nota modify

Hi Guest,

A short sale is much better than a regular foreclosure. A short sale will lower your credit by almost 75-100 as compared to a foreclosure which drops your credit by almost 250 points.

Why are you filing bankruptcy? Have you exhausted all your options? Did you try a loan modification?

I am told a modification is approved and "coming to me" - but the bank still has a sale date of my property of 03 July!!!!

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

It is a good news that your loan modification has been approved. As far as the sale date is concerned, you should speak to your lender and check out what you need to do in order to remove the sale date.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
