We bought our home in Sept of 07, it was already a forclosure so we thought we got a deal. Then the market crashed. I lost my job but my husband still has his. Now we don't have the income to finish fixing the home. We have been able to to make the payments, but the home isn't suitable for our children to live in. Without having the extra income, we can't fix the home. Will we qualify for a short sale? If so, or if not, how does the Realtor get paid in a short sale? Can you do a s]hort sale without a realtor?
You should directly contact your lender for a short sale. If he is convinced by your financial hardship, he will accept your request. In that case, you don't have to take the help of a realtor.
