Credit reporting on Foreclosure

Posted on: 30th Mar, 2010 07:15 am
I have a discharged chapter seven from 2 year ago. I tried to keep my home but with the downturn I have lost income. I did not reaffirm. Right now the mortgage companies report $0 on the balance of the accounts. I missed two payments in the fall and they were not reported to the Credit bureau. I know I am not legally obligated to continue with the mortgage but if short sale now will they reported it?
Welcome Guest,

It is true that you are not personally obligated to pay the mortgage payments any more as you haven't reaffirmed the dues with your lender. However, if your property is short sold now, then it will be mentioned in your credit report.
