Hi columbianmama!
Welcome to forums!
Did you clarify as to what type of documents you will require? As far as I know, you will require certain type of documents in order to get qualified for a short sale. Such documents may include a hardship letter, a document mentioning your present financial situation, etc.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Welcome columbianmama,
You will require certain documents when you apply for a short sale. Without submitting those documents, I don't think the lender will accept your short sale request.
