Yup, you're right, anyone who has account with them, better watch out for anything worse to happen. But one needs to be pro-active for sure or else they'll just eat up your money and you'll only come to know when you have nothing to do.

Hi Saffie,

Welcome to the forum.

You are saying that Geneva Roth is taking money out off your checking account, right. So better lodge a complaint against them ASAP at the attorney generals office to stop them and teach them a lesson.

Best of luck,
Larry

I did apply for a payday loan with one account number, I also have a different account with another institution and I just found out today that they have accessed my new account without ever given them my new number. How can they do this and what do I do to proceed to make them stop.

Welcome Corliss,

Did you have a talk with Geneva Roth officials directly. It's required because now that they have accessed your account, they might withdraw money too more than once. That's what they have been doing with people who've reported it to our community at http://www.mortgagefit.com/know-how/about5836.html .

You can also file a complaint with the FTC and see what steps they can take in this regard. But first of all, call up the geneva roth customer dept.

I had a loan from a loan company that wasn't called Geneva Roth. I never heard of them until they started taking large sums out of my account. I closed this account and went to another bank because I got no help from my bank at the time. Now they are taking money from my account. I had $400 taken from my account without any notification. It has been a year since I had the other account. They are basically crooks who operate several loan companies but not under the name of Geneva Roth. This only pops up when they take your money out of your account.

Welcome Brenda,

I too have realized that there are companies out there, especially payday loan companies who operate under different names so that people like you and me don't find out that they are the ones taking money out of the accounts. Even these companies keep on changing their contact numbers so that none can contact them and ask them as to why they have illegally taken out money from their accounts.

Okay, I borrowed $300 from this company. My finance charge was $90. fine. Well, they took $720 dollars from me. They said that because I didn't respond to their emails, they only take the finance charge every two weeks. I NEVER received an email until the day I called them. So, I put a block on them. Well, they took another $390 from me because it was different amount that I blocked. I got that back from my bank. And now GR is calling me with intimidating sounding men. Is there anything I can do?

Hi Lor,

Welcome to the forum.

You have borrowed $300 from them and have already paid $720. This seems ridiculous. If you have been harassed by them you need to file complaints to the Attorney General's office in your state ASAP.

Best of luck,
Larry

Hi karen,

Welcome to the forum.

You have not asked them and in spite of that "$400.00 was deposited" to your account and they will also charge interest on the amount. I think you should talk to them directly and request them to take the money back ASAP. And also ask them why they have deposited the money on your account.

Best of luck,
Larry

Hi diane fam!

I think you should immediately file a complaint at the State Attorney General's office. Some kind of fraudulent activity have taken place as a result there is a signature on the agreement. You can also consult an attorney who will guide you in taking the legal steps against them.

Thanks,

Jerry

I just had this company pull money from my brand new checking account saying that 2 years ago i had a pay day loan from another company with a different checking account. I filed bankruptcy and the guy called me every name under the sun when I told him i wanted my money back. Now my rent check is going to bounce!!! Can pay day loan companies take money from an account that you did not apply with?!

Welcome pat c!

I don't think it's legal to take money from an account that you did not apply with. You can place a complaint against the pay day loan company with your state attorney general.
