Hi

If the house is paid for, transferring the title won't be difficult. Your ex-husband needs to sign a quitclaim deed as grantor signing over his interest to you as grantee. It is always better to involve an attorney during the process of transfer of ownership to avoid disputes in future.

often times recording the divorce decreed should be good enough, but to be sure use the quit claim deed as suggested and his name is gone from the title.
