my mom & dad reside & finance a home in the state of ga. my dad has terminal cancer and the hopsice social worker told my dad to complete a quit claim deed form. is that necessary and if so, why?
Hi hoopfamily!
Welcome to forums!
I did not understand why the Hopsice Social Worker wants your father to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property. If your father wants to go for Medicaid benefits, then he may lose his Medicaid eligibility for the next 5 years if he goes for any property transfer now. Thus, I would suggest your parents to consult an attorney before going for a property transfer.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
