I live in Georgia and I purchase a house with my sister in 2005, but I decided to get married and purchase my own house 2 years later. I would like to get my name off my sisters house but she said that the bank might what to force her to come up with the full amount of the loan on the house is that true.
You can sign a quit claim deed and transfer your share of the property to your sister. However, after there is a change is property ownership, it is true that the lender will either want your sister to pay off the mortgage dues in full or refinance the loan.
