My mom lives in the state of Georiga, Leesburg. My father passed away last week. She is looking into the removal of his name from the house deed.
Where does she start? and what documents does she need?
She has a recent will with requests that all property and belongs of husband and banking be left to her and power of attorney.

Hi vickiharris,
If your father has left a will, then you mother needs to probate the will first. Once the will is probated, she will have to submit it at the county recorder's office and transfer the property in her name.
Thanks

Welcome donna,
You should contact your real estate attorney and show him the property deed and the will. The real estate attorney will let you know as to who will own the property.
