Can I still get a mortgage 2 years after Chapter 7?

Posted on: 29th Jan, 2011 03:00 pm
I filed for bankruptcy over two years ago and was discharged. I remained in my house and kept up payments even though the house was included in my bankruptcy. Do to an illness in my family I will have to relocate. It doesn't make sense to sell my house since it's worth less then half of what is owed. My credit score has been at a steady 700. My loan shows as in bankruptcy on my credit report. Can I still aquire a mortgage if there is NO forclosure? Any information will help. Thank you.
As the property is still in your name and has not been sold off yet, it might be a bit difficult for you to qualify for a new mortgage.
