i currently own a home in mine and my father's name. i am looking to refinance and want to replace my father with my husband on the mortgage. my husband has never owned property, would we qualify for the tax credit if he's the primary person on the loan?
How long ago did you purchase this house? Is it ur name? Are you on the mortgage?

no, he would not qualify. the program is for first-time homebuyers, and obtaining an ownership in a property by inheritance or by quit-claim from a family member is not allowable.
