I'm going to file chpt 7 bankruptcy next week nd would like to know if I can get finance for a home mortgage. I want to take advantage of the first time home buyers credit.
hi,
you will not be able to get a home loan immediately after filing bankruptcy. you need to wait for at least 2 years after a bankruptcy to qualify for an fha-insured loan. to qualify for a conventional loan, you need to wait 3-4 years. you also need to rebuild your credit in order to be able to qualify for the loan. the extended tax credit is going to expire in april, 2010. if you are going to file bankruptcy next week, you will not be able to get financing for a new house before the tax credit expires next year.

maybe you can buy the house first, and then file bankruptcy.
oh yeah...what i just posted? that you ought to buy first?
i was just kidding...
it is preposterous that you would ask the question that you asked. of course you cannot file bankruptcy and buy a home moments later!

how about kokomo?
and i suppose you could do it in indy too, but only if you're talking about parking it on the infield and your surname is andretti and it's may and the pacers are out of the playoffs...right?
