How can we get taken off my daughters FHA mortgage as a cosigner.
We are on a fixed income, retired and can't buy anything due to this.
Is there anyway to get out of this co-signer.
She is willing to say to too.
Has been paying for about 6 yrs now.

hi cthurston,
to take your name off the loan, your daughter will have to refinance the loan solely in her name. she needs to show enough income to be able to afford the mortgage payments on her own. once she refinances, your name will be removed from the mortgage and you will then be able to buy your own house. unless she refinances, no lender would want to release you from the mortgage liability.

Could a lawyer get me off the loan?
No, the only way off is for her to refinance without you or if she sells the home.
