no. this is one of the criteria. apart from this they also check for:
debt to income ratio
credit history
your emplyment history
debt to income ratio
credit history

Hi, 620 is just for the credit score part of it. They will also want recent pay check stubs and bank statements apart from what is said above.
Yes, FHA does only require a 620 credit score to qualify for credit worthiness. As stated above, there are a number of other factors which play a major part in qualifying aside from just your credit score. But, if you have a 620 credit score, that is a start. I hope this helps...

FHA does not set the credit score requirment, the actual lender/investor who is going to fund the loan does.... FHA specifically states that they do not have a minimum credit score requirment. FHA will only ensure loans that are Underwritten to the FHA standards, lenders hedge their bets by only accepting higher credit borrower because they are less likely to have any issues getting FHA to insure the file. There are lenders like AFR, FGMC, and Mid Island that will go down to a 560 credit score or lower.
