Are the federal lending limits going to be raised by FHA from 362k to over 400k?
Hi
FHA lending limits vary from one region to another. It depends on where the home is located. As far as I'm aware of, the current maximum loan limit for FHA loans in high cost areas is $625,500. The lending limits could be raised. But so far, there has not been any official word from the FHA stating any such change in the lending limits.

The FHA limits are currently $417k, but it is being contemplated to raise the loan limit to a higher level.
Millerja9, that is an incorrect statement. The loan limits have already been raised in a number of areas, not to mention that FHA loan limits were never $417k. You are referring to conventional with that figure. Most areas around me were at about $362k BEFORE the loan limits were raised and now vary by county, but have seen up to $729k. I hope this helps...
