My husband had to resign from employment due to medical issues and we had to miss one mortgage payment. Do you have any information concerning home owners rights concerning late or missed payments?

There are no defined rights as a homeowner as far as late pays or missed payments are concerned. But as Sweeney said, talk to your mortgage company and request for a workout plan. You can check out some Workout plans or Loss Mitigation options so that when the lender suggests an option, you know exactly what it is all about.
