Hi,
I will be applying for home mortgage with my wife who uses her maiden name. Is marriage certificate one of the documents required? We got married outside United States and have a certificate from there.

You and your wife can carry the marriage certificate as a proof of the fact that you got married. The lender can accept it and let both of you own the mortgage jointly as husband and wife.
