I have cleared my mortgage but my lender wants to keep my deeds and also keep 1 poind in the account.Doed this still give them some claim to my property

If you've paid off the mortgage, then the lender has to release the lien and give you the property deed. This will make you the owner of the property and your house will be free and clear of the lien. Did the lender give you any reason as to why he wants to keep the deed?
