Do I qualify for 1st time home buyer if I have a family house in my name?

Posted on: 29th Mar, 2009 06:18 am
I had a house of the family put in my name over 10 years ago. Due to my income, I was able to repair it and fix it up. Now I want to purchase a house of my own. the house I live in now will return to another family member--signed over.
Would I qualify for a first time home buyer?
I do not believe you will qualify.

Welcome trolcon,

No, you'll not qualify as a first time home buyer. Those people who haven't owned a property in the past 3 years would qualify as first time home buyers.
