somebody able to get home loan and refi in my name w/o me knowing it and now its foreclosed and i I saw it in my credit report and thats how I FOUND OUT
oh god! this is strange. how can someone refinance in your name. is that what the mortgage company told you? may be they are mistaken. or may be it is a fraud. they're just harrasing you and taking more money from you. i can understand it's affecting your credit report, and that's what is bothering you a lot. but please don't worry so much. you need to keep your calm.
i suggest that you have a straight talk with the lender and requst him to check out from the county recorder if there is at all a mortgage recorded in your name and whether the property description given there is similar to that of yours. if you haven't taken a loan, there'll be no records as such. also, you need to talk to the credit bureau to whom the information is being reported and dispute the false information.
i suggest you contact an attorney and take his help in negotaitaing wioth the lender and the credit bureau.
thanks

Hi dverastigue,
Oh this seems the case of mortgage fraud. Contact the bank and inform that you have not taken any mortgage from them. Your credit score has been destroyed and they may also come after you for the deficiency judgment. So contact the back and fix the problem ASAP.
Take help from an attorney so that he can help you out.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Best of luck,
Larry

I WANT TO APPLY FOR SOMETHING BUT NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN GO TO CLEAR MY NAME
Hi Nigel!
Do you want to know how to take your name off a title? It will be better if you could give some detailed information.
Thanks,
Jerry

oh man...
if there is fraud that appears on your credit report, you will definitely need to speak to the lender in that case, but you'll also want to detail the fraud to the credit reporting agencies (trans union, experian, equifax) so that they can begin to correct your file.

Welcome hulie,
If you have paid off the debts, then you will be having documents proving that. You can show the documents to the lender as well as the credit bureau and update the records. If you want to sue them, you will have to consult an attorney who will tell you the steps you need to take.
