We were told we needed a co-signor for FHA but now wandering if we could have a co-signor for USDA. We just found out the house is eligible for USDA but are we if we need a co-signor?
Hi
Lenders allow a co-signer on the loan, if the primary borrower does not qualify for the loan using his own credit and income. I haven't heard of any rule that prohibits a person from co-signing on a USDA loan. You ought to be able to use a co-signer on the loan, provided he or she meets the qualifying requirements.
