Can credit card lenders put a lien on a property and force you to sell it?

My grandmother has a large amount of debt and she is now in a nursing home, we have taken over the property and are making the mortgage payments. No liens have been presented but we are unable to pay her credit cards and they are now in collections. We have poa for her health and financial interests. We live in California. The property is in a living trust. Can the credit card companies force us to sell her home
Hi applesgal!

Welcome to forums!

The credit card company has already sent the account to the collections. The collection agency will now deal with the debts. You need to contact the collection agency and negotiate with them regarding the debts.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
