Enhanced life estate deed

Posted on: 23rd Jul, 2011 09:22 pm
I am receiving S.S. disability and S.S.I. I have been living with my mother in her home for approximately 27 years. I was disabled very young and my benefits reflect the few years I worked after highschool. My mother is now 85 and in poor health. We have found it necessary to obtain outside assistance for her care. This being quite expensive, has depleted our savings and left both of us in a hopeless situation. She being forced into a care home and I possibly homeless due to a lack of adequate income. Can an enhanced life estate deed prevent medicaid from placing a lien on the home? Will the deed disqualify me from the benefits I am now receiving? Is there anything I can do to retain my residence here after her death?
Hi Guest,

You should contact an attorney who will go through your situation and let you know whether or not an enhanced life estate deed will be best suited for you in order to retain the residence.

Thanks
