I have a friend who has been in chapter 13 now for a year and a half. They keep dragging out all the paperwork and keep objecting to everything that is put forth the court. Meanwhile they are living in their present home for FREE and taking lavish vacations every 6 months. How long can this continue? Why has the judge not demanded all this run around be stopped and a judgement made? How long can they keep putting money away and living the high life? What's up with this chapter 13? Maybe we should all do this. :?
This person is a friend? That's hard to fathom, frankly. Most friends are unaware of someone's Chapter 13 filing, and those who might be aware are usually circumspect enough to leave it completely alone.
How do you know about the objections to "everything" being put forth? As for the FREE living, do they spend no money on oil, gas, electricity, hazard insurance, tax, maintenance? And how do you know that?
If you know so much about this case, you undoubtedly have the judge's name etched in your brain as well...why not simply ask the judge why "all this run around" cannot be stopped?
I sure don't have any answers for you, but you seem to know a whole lot more about this particular case than most folk would know about their own cases. Based on the questions we get on this Forum, the vast majority of debtors who enter bankruptcy have little or no clue as to what they've gone through after they've completed it, let alone during the process.
You go, Linda...your stream of resources for obtaining information about your "friend" is awesome!
