If I get some money during bankruptcy, can I open a new account and place the money in it? Or do I need to inform the bankruptcy court regarding that money? Also, I wanted to know that if I want to maintain a vehicle though I have filed for bankruptcy, so I need to inform the lender and the bankruptcy court about it?
When you're in bankruptcy, I don't think any of the financial institutions or banks will allow you to open an account with them. Moreover, if you have received some money while you're still in your bankruptcy filing, it will be better if you could inform the bankruptcy court about the same. There are chances that the trustee will use the money in order to pay off your debts.
In the bankruptcy filing, you will have to list all the assets. However, if you want to keep the vehicle, then you should inform the bankruptcy court about it. You should also inform your bankruptcy attorney and bankruptcy trustee about it as well.
