I have been working with a debt settlement company for quite sometime now and as for now, they have settled 4 of my debt accounts. However, two of my creditors are not ready to settle the debts and are trying to file a lawsuit against me to get my wages garnished. Now, I don’t want to be garnished 15% of my pay for two years to get that debt paid off. I've spoken to bankruptcy lawyers who say a Ch. 13 would be my best bet. Advice?
Hi Marsh,
If your creditors are not ready to settle the debts with you, then you can go for the option of bankruptcy filing. As bankruptcy lawyers have said that Chapter 13 will be a good option for you, then you should go for that option in order to avoid the wage garnishment.
Thanks
