i think i have to file chapter 13 bankruptcy. my bankruptcy attorney told me that only way to save my car is to file chapter 13. i have more than 3 months behind on my payment and the repo people are looking for me. once i file bankruptcy, how will my credit report look like? i haven’t paid my cards for like 6-7 months now. should i include the credit cards in chapter 13? after i file bankruptcy, will be able to repair my credit?
Hi Game,
You can include your credit cards in your Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing. As Chapter 13 helps in re-organizing the debts, you will get a repayment plan which will help you in paying off the debts easily. Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing will be mentioned in your credit report for the next 7 years. It will also lower your scores by 200 points approximately.
Thanks,
Jerry
