My lender recently started the foreclosure process and then dismissed it after 3 months refusing to negotiate with me, stating they were writing the debt off. I received a dismissal of foreclosure and notice to vacate any further foreclosure activity. They say they won't negotiate, yet I still live in the property and plan on remaining in the property, what does it mean when they write off your mortgage loan in the state of illinois and you still remain in the home?
Welcome Kimcan,
I guess they are planning to charge off the loan account and assign it to a collection agency who will in turn harass you for the payments. If you make the payments to the collection agency, then you will be able to save your property.
